Sports and Deep Tissue Massage

orange sport massage 450 × 450

Sports and deep tissue massage are mainly used for sports injuries and performance enhancement. Although people often consider this a painful treatment, we pride ourselves on making it as comfortable as possible. So if you’ve pulled a hammy running after the kids or hurt your shoulder lifting weights, we’re here to help get you up and running again.

Dry Needling

Dry Needling Orange 450 × 450

Dry needling is similar to acupuncture in that thin sterile needles are inserted into the skin. It differs because it is used for muscle tension (or knots), tendon and ligament issues and sports injuries. We also find it useful in general muscle pain and specific issues like headaches, migraines, sciatica and upper and lower back pain.

Cupping

Cupping Orange 450 × 450

Cupping may be trendy now with many celebrities, but it’s been around for thousands of years, with Egyptian, Chinese and Middle Eastern cultures all using it. Therapeutically we find it useful for shoulder issues, migraines, arthritis and extremely tight muscles.

Gua Sha or Muscle scraping

Another ancient technique! Modern Gua Sha, when used in a therapeutic setting, is often called Therapeutic scraping or Muscle Scraping. The modern technique was popularised by the work of David Graston (who has a technique named after him) and is used to break up adhesions and fibrous tissue in areas with tightness and limited motion.

Our Orange Massage and Dry Needling team is committed to providing professional, service-focused, individualised care. We strive to do this with enthusiasm and a touch of humour.
